Révélé au Tokyo Game Show 2012, Kingdom Hearts -HD 1.5 ReMIX- est un portage en haute définition de Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts: Re:Chain of Memories, et des scènes cinématiques de Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days, sur PlayStation 3, développé à l'occasion des 10 ans de la série. Le portage sera également disponible sur PlayStation 4 en France le 31 mars 2017[1].

  • Le jeu contient Kingdom Hearts, avec tous les ajouts de la version Final Mix, et Kingdom Hearts: Re:Chain of Memories, tous deux remastérises en HD.
  • Pour les éventuels nouveaux venus de la série, il comprend aussi des cinématiques de Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days, également remastérisées, pour permettre de comprendre le scénario de ce jeu (et donc englober tous les événements entre le premier et deuxième Kingdom Hearts). La totalité des scènes dure environ 2 heures et 50 minutes. Par ailleurs, Yoko Shimomura a réarrangé la plupart des musiques de Final Mix à l'occasion de ce nouvel opus.
  • Les trois jeux proposent aussi la fonctionnalité Trophées de la PS3.
  • A l'instar de Kingdom Hearts II, le jeu utilise des commandes Réactions, qui facilitent le gameplay lors des phases de combat, ou d'exploration. Le trailer montre notamment que les attaques spéciales de Sora telles qu'Arcanes sont désormais associées à cette touche. Par ailleurs, le menu de Commandes comporte toujours quatre options : la quatrième serait un raccourci vers le menu Invocations.
  • La partie Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix du jeu propose deux compétences inédites, non présentes dans le jeu originel : Zéro XP et Maître des combos.
  • Les joueurs achetant la première édition (japonaise) du jeu, et ceux qui le pré-commanderont sur l'e-STORE de Square Enix, reçurent des codes promotionnels leur offrant des objets bonus dans Kingdom Hearts: χ
  • Square Enix France a, par ailleurs, confirmé que la partie Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix serait doublée en français. Les parties Re: Chain of Memories et 358/2 Days seront doublées en anglais, et sous-titrées en français.
    • Cependant, en Juillet 2013, il fut finalement annoncé que Square Enix renonçait à utiliser les doublages européens pour le jeu. Ainsi, ce denier sera entièrement en anglais et sous-titré. [2]
  • De nouvelles cartes sont disponibles dans Re: Chain of Memories. En effet, si le joueur a regardé un certain nombre de scènes de 358/2 Days, il obtiendra des cartes Attaque basées sur des Keyblades du dit jeu. Ces Keyblades sont Éclat dissident, Éclipse totale, Hurlement de minuit et Deux pour un.
    • En vérité, ces cartes inédites remplacent celles des Keyblades de Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix, présentes dans le Re: Chain of Memories originel.
  • Annonce de la sortie française du jeu.
    Par ailleurs, les cartes Malus des membres de l'Organisation XIII, qui apparaissent pour la première fois dans Kingdom Hearts II, sont également disponibles dans le jeu.
  • Au travers de la compilation, 66 musiques ont été réenregistrées à l'aide d'un orchestre, principalement dans Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix et 358/2 Days.
  • Ceux qui pré-commandent le jeu en version collector pourront également avoir un album de 24 pages, contenant des artworks provenant de chacun des trois jeux.
  • Une fois Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix terminé, un fond d'écran est débloqué, idem pour Kingdom Hearts: Re: Chain of Memories, et de même lorsque l'intégralité de la compilation est terminée (scènes de Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days incluses).
